Artists
Our Artists
Our Emerging Artists are supported for a duration of 3 years.
During that time, they benefit from the Artistic and Career Development Scheme, following which they can remain part of The Peace and Prosperity Trust family as Established Artists, thus continuing to benefit from the network and guidance from the Trust throughout their careers.
Our Associate Artists
Our Associate Artists are a talented group of singers and instrumentalists who share the same values and aspirations as our Trust. While they may not have been trained or nurtured by us, we are proud to collaborate with them on musical projects that promote our shared mission. These artists share our values and aspirations, and we are honored to work alongside them towards our shared goal of promoting musical excellence and social impact.
Each of our Associate Artists brings a unique set of skills and experiences to their musical performances, enriching our collaborations with their diverse backgrounds and talents.

Success stories
Bushra El Turk
Bushra was a young British composer with Lebanese heritage when the Trust appointed her as resident composer.
The Trust supported Bushra to develop her composition work and weave her Arabic heritage in to her work. In 2012, the Trust commissioned Bushra to compose a new piece debut at Cadogan Hall. She went on to study an AHRC funded doctorate at University of Birmingham exploring the integration of Middle Eastern and Western art music.
Her mentorship with the Trust helped her to gain confidence in conducting a large orchestra. She gained mentorship conducting and voice coaching work with the Trust’s professionals.
Bushra is now one of Britains leading contemporary classical composers and her work has been performed by many prominent British orchestras. She was recently selected by the BBC as one of the most inspiring 100 Women of today.

Zeina Barhoum, Soprano
I am indebted to The Peace and Prosperity Trust for their continued support in me as an artist. The Trust pushed my potential artistry to higher levels through a fantastic training programme, with expert coaches. They have also given me outstanding performance opportunities, and a chance to share a concert platform with an international star that will help give me recognition and further support.
Zeina Barhoum
Zeina was a young musician with a passion for singing and some musical education. She wanted to sing and perform but she was working in visual communication full time. There was very little time for music.
The Trust saw her passion and ambition and invited her over to England for a summer of training with some of the worlds best voice coaches and teachers from the Royal Opera House and Royal Academy of Music.
With the Trust’s encouragement and training and Zeina’s drive to learn enabled her to successfully reach an international level of musicianship that enabled her to fly.
Thanks to the Trust’s mentorship and training programme Zeina has succeeded and has become a well known musician in the Middle East. She has just released her second album and performs regularly for royalty, opera houses and festivals in the Middle East.
The Trust secured two international performances for Zeina with leading professional singers. A guest appearance with Roberto Alagna at the Beiteddine Festival and sharing the stage with Bocelli in London have been major highlights of her career.
Bassem Alkhouri
Bassem was born in Damascus, Syria and graduated from the Conservatory in Damascus as a qanun specialist.
Bassem immigrated to Holland where he studied voice at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Bassem has a superb lyrical tenor voice.
The Trust helped Bassem to get professional performance experience on a UK and international stage. Bassem is now a principal member of the Staatstheater Kassel in Germany. He has also toured extensively performing both in Europe and the Middle East.

Tala Tutunji
Tala Tutunji
Tala Tutunji was seven when she watched her cousins taking piano lessons and begged her mother to let her take them too. Living in the Middle East at the time was difficult but her piano lessons took her away to a place of refuge and delight.
Tala was recognised for her talents and was awarded a joint scholarship from the Purcell Anniversary Fund and Chetham’s School of Music to pursue her musical education in the United Kingdom. Tala was awarded a scholarship from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and graduated in 2003 with a BMUS Honours degree. Tala graduated with a Masters Degree from Trinity college of Music in June 2008.
With a suite of novel multimedia performances, Tala’s aspiration is to bring musicians together to transcend distance, borders and beyond. The goal is to revitalise Middle-Eastern music in a multi-cultural context, while introducing a Middle-Eastern flavour to Western classical repertoire. Tala Tutunji’s Middle-Eastern roots combined with her passion for theater have fuelled many groundbreaking performances across the globe.
